Guitars shown below were made by Harmony and sold under the SS Stewart brand. It doesn't mean that all SS Stewart guitars were made by Harmony.

SS Stewart was a famous banjo maker in the beginning of the 20th century. Somme S.S. Stewart guitars had very special designs with "resonators", some are said made by Martin. On this site you will find only the SS Stewart late models (1940-1960 approx) built by Harmony. Many of them wears the B&J (Buegeleisen & Jacobson from New-York) distributor decal on the back of the headstock. Usually they have a paper label inside, with the SS Stewart model number and serial, next to the usual Harmony stamps, (with a different Harmony model number).

• 9017 - Oriphonic (cutaway) - Electric Archtop -  6 Stamped H67 inside (?)

• 9011 (1957) - Oriphonic - Electric Archtop - Redburst -  6 "Hershey bar" type pickup, mounted on the pickguard

• 9016 (1958-1959) - Oriphonic - Electric Archtop - Yellow burst -  37 "Hershey bar" type pickup, mounted on the pickguard. Stamped H986. All birch construction, top with tonebars. Thin body, 2 3/4" depth.

• 9015 (1959) - 9015 - Electric Archtop - Yellow burst
  Silverfoil pickup, as seen on Silvertone guitars. Stamped H983. All birch construction, top with tonebars. Thin body, 2 3/4" depth.
• Acoustic archtop

• 4008 - 4008 - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst with faux flame -  8 Birch body construction - (based on Harmony H950)

• 4009 - 4009 - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst with faux flame -  7 (based on Harmony H950)

• 6999 - 6999 - Acoustic archtop - Natural -  11 All birch, tortoise bindings

• 7000 - 7000 - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst with tiger faux flame -  30 Stamped H1285 in body

• 9011 - 9011 - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst -  6

• 4220 - 4220 - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst -  14

• 7006 - 7006 - Acoustic archtop - Black -  16 Stamped H1289 inside.

• 9010TG - 9010 Tenor - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst -  7 Tenor version of the 9010 model. Stamped H989. Checkered bindings, the body looks like a Harmony Broadway H954.

• 9012 - 9012 faux-flame - Acoustic archtop -  11 Another SS Stewart model 9012 has a gold finish. This one is finished in a blonde, yellowish "faux-flame" ascan be seen on the popular Harmony H1214 for example. This one has a trussrod so should be a later (fifties) model.

• Wondertone2 - Acoustic Archtop - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst -  4 Checkered bindings. May compare to Harmony Broadway H954, but has square fret markers.

• 7005 - H1423 - Acoustic archtop - Tobacco Sunburst -  20 Spruce top, mahogany body. Could compare to some harmony Patrician models. Stamped H1423.

• Snow Queen - Snow Queen - Acoustic archtop - White -  9 Body and top look to be made from maple. Number inside is 4980 1290.

• H1286 (1932-1938) - H1286 - Acoustic archtop - Shaded burst -  7 Comparable to Harmony Cremona models. Spruce top (carved ?). Stamped H1286. SS Stewart model number unknown. Check the (later version ?) SS Stewart model 7008, similar but with a different fretboard.

• 9010 or 7018 (1945-1946) - 9010 - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst -  44 All birch construction, wooden marquetry bindings. Stamped H1278 inside. A 9010 was reported stamped H980.

• 7008 (1946) - 7008 / 7014 - Acoustic archtop - Sunburst -  30 Carved spruce top, maple body. Stamped H1286. Check the other (older version ?) similar SS Stewart, also stamped H1286, with separated blocks inlays fretboard. One model kown with a 7008 SS STewart number, and another similar model with 7014 model number...

• 7009 (1948) - 7009 - Acoustic archtop - Black -  13 Spruce top, maple body. Has the straight f-holes. Stamped H1289 inside, and has a paper label (typical of SS Stewart models) with model number 7009 and serial.

• 9012 (1955) - 9012 Gold - Acoustic archtop - Gold -  12 Birch top and body - Gold finish with heavy white/red/black bindings. Stamped H982 inside body, and has the typical SS Stewart paper label with distinct SS Stewart model number and serial. Another (later, with trussrod) model wears the same 9012 number but with a blonde faux-flame finish.

• 9013 (1956-1958) - 9013 Wondertone - Acoustic archtop - Yellow burst -  36 Stamped H983 inside body. Later models (1958 ?) have a trussrod, and a black headstock with a metal "Wondertone" logo.

• Acoustic flatop

• 7003 - 7003 - Acoustic flatop -  12 As seen on the H1203 Harmony model, early models had a different, rounded "figure of eight" body shape. - (based on Harmony H1203)
