Guitars shown below were made by Harmony and sold under the Opus brand. It doesn't mean that all Opus guitars were made by Harmony.
Opus was a "division" of Harmony. In the last years, to fight against the japanese imports, Harmony made this attempt to market higher end (but expensive...) acoustic guitars. They had the new "Slim Line" neck with narrow fretboards (almost no trapeze between nut and bridge).

| XX (twenty) (1974-1975) - Extra Wide Jumbo - Acoustic flatop - Redburst - 19
17" Rounded jumbo, approximate copy of a Gibson J200. Spruce X-braced top, maple body. Narrower fingerboard than previous Harmony productions. The model XXV was the natural finish version (available later). A very high price of $400 in 1975. |

17" Rounded jumbo, approximate copy of a Gibson J200. Spruce X-braced top, maple body. Narrower fingerboard than previous Harmony productions. The model XX was the sunburst version. Priced $475 in 1975, this one should have the record of most expensive Harmony guitar ever... Harmony closed his doors this year. |
