models H930 - Stella
Acoustic flatop - Sunburst, horizontal faux flame
Production year(s) : 1951-1962 (other years possible, not verified)

All birch, horizontal faux-flame, "Idento" metal tailpiece and painted on pickguard on early years. No more design around soundhole and screwed-on plastic pickguard added from 1960. White striping line added around body last year in 1962. Similar in last years to the long lasting and common H929. (Same H930 model number was used later in 1971, for a different Stella model, updated version of the H929).

Had one of these for 2/3 years, the number inside ends H930. The pickguard and the decoration around the sound hole are painted and the tuners have black knobs, no Harmony nor "steel reinforced neck" logo. It plays well, great low action, no buzzing, loud and very forgiving. I have two other Stellas but this is the best.
The full number is 2076H930, anyone know what it all means?

My 1951 Stella H930 is quite different from the description. The date stamp reads F-51-N. The serial number reads 3739H930. There is no white pickguard and the stain is very black, revealing only a little bit of a dark sunburst around the sound hole. The white fringe paint is not ornate - just a white line. The metal piece that holds the strings near the bridge is solid with no cut out pattern. Like the other commenter's the only marking on the head is the word Stella (in almost spray painted letters). The bridge is comprised solely of wood.

HAVE A H930 WITH A KIND OF CHECKERED HARD CARDBOARD CASE. IT HAS A SERIAL NO. 2940H930. ALSO IT IS MARKED S61HB. IT SAYS STELLA ON THE HEAD STOCK AND A STAR. THEN STEEL REINFORCED NECK, MADE IN THE USA. IT HAS DOTS ON THE FRET BOARD. JUST A WHITE RING AROUND TO SOUND HOLE, METAL TAIL PIECE, AND A WOODEN BRIDGE. DONT KNOW THE YEAR .

mines a 1956 somebody played it and played it and etc..... man its got vibe..worn thru the paint smooth as glass many places from bein played and played .,.. Have also a 1955 929 orig. near mint. Both get played regularly and sound awesome .The 55 has a custom ebony bridge/saddle ( of course tagged and saved the orig.) along with orig. nut. The tone and sustain is wonderful ultimate blues boxes !!

I have an old Stella exactly like the one in this photo except there's only the "Stella" stencil on the head. The serial no. on the inside is 1589H930. I guess it was my dad's (he never played ??) and remember tripping over it in the playroom, hitting tennis balls with it, etc. !!!&*@$%#!! kid! Now I'm 46 and play it more than any of my other guitars... it's always by the couch, ready for action. Cool little thing.

I picked up a H930 Stella 6 string, 12 fret guitar at a local flea market today for $20.00. The full serial number is 2798H930.
Although it is NOT in real great shape. nor does it have the original tail stock piece, I think I can reworked the tuners and bridge to make it a quite playable "Blues" guitar.

I have two 930,s a 1958 and a 1959 the S-58 has black knobs on the tuners the S-59 has white. The 59 was played a plenty. It has been worn smooth thru the painted pickguard by hours of finger picking. The S-58 I just purchased on E-Bay for 29.95 +20.00 shipping. It has small separation on back and tiny crack ,,easy fix.. looks as though it did not get played at all. Going to save the original wood nut and bridge/saddle and replace nut with bone and make new bridge/saddle from yew wood with bone saddle as well. Cant wait to play it !

I just picked up an H930 which is more kid's size, at a yard sale for twenty bucks. It's a bit beat up and needs some strings. I'm not sure what's original on it. The complete serial number reads: 5243H930.
