Picked one up on ebay several months ago for a camp guitar, I had a Stella when I was 13 or 14 back when Johnson was President, and I couldn't wait to get a real guitar. Now that I look at this box with older eyes and fingers, I can appreciate how well the Harmony company did to put out a legit guitar for dirt cheap. It works, it has a voice, and sounds better than the cheap Asian available today. To quote my favorite ebay post... "You know you love them, you know you had one, even if you won't admit it now, you, with your Martins, your Taylors, and Gibsons sneering at you from their wall mounts... Stella. The greatest cheap guitar ever made. Amen - Foxsong - 2007-05-09
Oh yes, that's the one I had back in 1974 -- the one with the plain white band around the soundhole and the pretty, odd-shaped pickguard. Even though I've got a couple of very good guitars now, I keep an eye on eBay, because I'd just love to have one like it back again. Ah, memories! :-) - Bob - 2007-10-18
First guitar I ever owned. I was 12 or so. I wish it was still around. It hurt like hell to play the thing but once my fingers got used to it it had a pretty decent tone. Crazy girlfirend killed it :( - Rod - 2008-02-23
My parents bought me one of these (plain pick guard and sound hole) for Christmas when I was in high school. I still have it and still play it! - Ian - 2009-12-02

I think they were produced from 1969-1971. - jay jay - 2013-05-23
I have had my stella sence 1976. I was told it was a 1961 stella but looking at the photos it looks more like a 1971 stella. the numbers inside are 2644 12071. my daughter asked me the other day if she could borrow it to learn to play but that guitar has a lot of sentamentel value to me so im going to have to find her another one to learn on. cheers jay jay - Mike - 2014-10-30
Hi, just got an H934. Mother in law gave it to me. Father in law had it in the basement, complete with green leatherette gig bag. One Ladder brace is falling in at soundhole. Currently fixing it to lift the sunken valley. Looking forward to playing it. Lovely looking little guitar - ryan@playmusic - 2016-01-07
neat little guitar bought one yesterday a 934 model all chipped up around the edges but sounds great new dean merkley strings and what a cool little guitar! Wow craigslist for $30 cheaper than they were new - PT Steveo - 2018-05-28
My father took me to the local music store and bought me this exact guitar for my birthday in 1969. I am 100% positive on the year, and I still have it. I use it with nylon strings mainly, I would hate to part with it. Mine has no markings on the pickguard. It has the flared shape, but is plain white.
