H1070 - Wagon wheels

Different models stenciled with "Western chuck-wagon scene" The version sold by Sears has "Pioneer Days" title, the one sold by Wards has no title, and the Harmony version has "Wagon Wheels" title… The Canadian sold through Simpson-Sears was "Wagon Train"

  My father had this guitar when he was a boy. It was set up for lap steel.
  I played my very 1st rock and roll on this (wards version)

  A new student just brought one of these to see if he could learn on it. It was his grea-grandfathers.

  I just bought one of these 15 minutes ago for $60. It is in remarkably good playing condition. Kids scratched their names in the finish, but that must have been a long time ago since the names are things like Betty and Walt. The action is remarkably low unlike many other cowboy guitars I've seen. I figure it is due to the neck cross section being very thick and so it can effectively counter the pulling force of the strings. I'll call that good design. Our house was built in 1938, so this will fit right in with the period.

  I have one of these, but it says "Wagon Train" on the front...I wonder if they put it out while that show was popular.

  I have this style guitar but mine is lighter colour and has "wagon train" written on the front, also has a picture of a wagon train.

  Found one on Venice Beach Boardwalk. 40$ Looks like a bit of gorilla glue around the body. I'm buying it and giving it to a po ol guitarist.
