 H60 - Meteor double cutaway

Meteor 1967 model, double cutaway with 2 enlarged single coil pickups. Hagstrom adjustable bridge. Head is black with a white trussrod cover. "T" type tailpiece. Models from ca. 1968 have white plastic inlays inside f-holes. H60 model number was previously used on a one pickup electric archtop in the fifties. The same Meteor model wears H61 model number in the 1971 catalog. The previous Metor model was H70 with single cutaway and different pickups.

I own a Harmony H60 Meteor, double cutaway acoustic/electric. It's styled after a Gibson ES335.
This was my first electric, I've had it since my early teens. Great guitar. Still plays well, with some minor upgrades required.
I wonder why Harmony made such a straight neck, tough to switch back and forth from other guitars with a more tapered neck. My fingers keep slipping off the fretboard on higher notes :)

I have a H60 made in the fall of 1970. Incredible clean tone. Real hard to keep my daughter from taking it away from me. All original except tuners.
Even has the plastic strap buttons still on it.I don't play it as much as I used to. But it gets pulled out and shown off every now and then. Only way I'll part with it is if my daughter takes it. - Jay - 2010-01-07

I got this guitar for free in the early 90s and have been in love with it since. It is quirky but THE SOUND!!! People still cannot believe the tonal range this guitar produces. I am still on the hunt for another one.

Just bought an h70 for 500 bucks at a local shop. The date stamp is fading so much that I can't tell if it says f-65 or f-66. Anyone know if there was any obvious difference between those two years? Thanks! - berny holguin - 2015-03-18
