Duplicate of the Silvertone S1384 also made by Harmony during the same years, the only difference besides the logo is the fancier tailpiece on the Harmony model. It is not the same as the Silvertone S1385 or the S1427 as suggested on the web page, neither had the metal binding unique to the Espanada and Silvertone S1384. The later H-63s are all black jazz box electric archtops with Gibson P19 pickups, but it is the harmometal that sets the other two into a class by themselves. One of the guitars shown has been equipped with a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece which is an ad on and a new bridge--original was black wood. An all original 1957 Espanada in good condition sold on Ebay in August, 2007 for $2,350.00.

I've got one of these, with the white binding. I love the way it sounds, though it's so old it's got some serious problems. But all in all, for being about 50 years old, it's incredible. I just need to take it into a tech to get it set up properly and it'll be perfect.

I have a supposed 1952 version of a harmony seems to be closer to the Espandas although it has white binding vs the metal. Was my father's first guitar at what he thought was 16yrs of age. born in 1936 so the math puts it around 52. The case was destroyed in a flood but the guitar is still a-1. Can't find a stamp anywhere though and the neck label went missing years ago. Don't know for sure it's a Harmony only have my dad's word on it. Can anyone here identify with a pic? Shapes the same as the Espandas except w/white binding and large pearl inlays on the neck. Double pick ups with white strip that runs down the right side and displays the pickup selector with controls linear rather than grouped. If anyone can tell me where it's tagged for identification purposes or wants to give it a shot by looking at a pic... email me at mgates58@gmail.com THANKS!

This was my first electric. My father bought it for me about 1958. I had a Bigsby installed the first year I owned it. I couldn't afford the Gretsch that Duane Eddy was playing but this came very close to the sound I wanted. The case was the first thing to disintegrate. It was cardboard. That Harmony traveled around the world with me while I was in the Navy and actually saw an afternoon jam session at the Peppermint Lounge. I eventually owned several Gretschs and Gibsons but I never forgot that Harmony.
