  I bought a H-65 yesterday in Sweden. When I studied the pictures I found that on pic 21-25 I can see MY guitar!!!! Now someone has put on an extra P-13 PU so it's almost like a H-62. It sounds awesome!

  I just scored a mint 1959 H 65 that is in incredible condition. Everything original and everthing works. Wow - what a great guitar for jazz. Hard to believe that after 52 years an instrument could be in this condition. Though these were not uncommon guitars, I have not found more than a couple for sale in any given year and when they are, they aren't on the market very long.

  If I'm not mistaken, my Harmony is this model. I got it in a swap in the mid 1970s. I used it for rock and country on regular weekend gigs. It's still in pretty decent shape although it needs a good cleanup. A very nice sounding guitar, really. Mine has had some mods such as Grover pegs, a Gibson-style adjustable bridge and I have no idea what tailpiece originally was on it. A bit of loss of inlays of the headstock but as has been said, it has held up incredibly well for a guitar more than a half century old.

  Just got a 1957 H65. It reminded me of the one I played as a teenager in a band back in the 70s. I absolutely love it. It just screams 50s in its styling and the playability is sweeeet. You just cant fake it when it comes to that vintage sound,looks and feel. Beautiful guitar.

  I bought a rather used H65 way back in 1984 and it has sat in my attic since then until about two weeks ago when I decided to dust it off and restore it. It has cleaned up really nice and is starting to look great! I need one original tuner key and 4 tuner bushings and the original volume/tone knobs. Not finding many choices on Ebay (or anywhere for that matter)..

  A friend gave me one of these several years back. I fixed it up and actually played it for a while. Mine is not that easy to play but it sounds kind of cool. I have a grestch new yorker and a couple of L5s, so I am a bit spoiled. It looks cool hanging on the wall, though.

  Thanks so much for compiling this website. I grew up listening to my late grandfather play his 1959 H65. I'm a player myself now, so I just retrieved this from my mother's basement, cleaned it up, adjusted the bridge and put a new set of strings on it. I'm even playing with one of my Pop's picks. It sounds fantastic through my Fender tube amp--smooth jazz tone with great resonance. This treasure brings back wonderful memories of a wonderful man!

  I have the neck. body and tail piece of a 1957 H65. The Maple looks sensational-no cracks. I just took it to a luthier for a neck reset. I got tired of saying I was going to restore it one day. The guitar has waited 25 years on me to do this. I bought it in pieces for $50

  Had it for about 23yrs and now I know it's in it's original condition. It's the best guitar I've played bar none. I tell every body I own the best guitar in the world and no one realy believes me until they play it, then they always want to buy it. This included my uncle Terry who has played with some of the biggest names there has been in Jazz and old school popular music (Zoot Simms, Quincy Jones, Chet Baker to name drop but a few).

  I finally got my dads guitar repaired. It sat in my closet for many years with the neck separating from the body. I am learning to play it. I can remember him singing Your Cheating Heart on it when I was a little girl. Thanks for your site. Was happy to know when it was made!
