I bought a model 54 serial # 9710H654 five years ago. It is red sunburst, 2 pickups, and the "f" holes are binded (probably wasn't originally). It was in a pretty sorry state & I had to rewire it but I kept the original hardware. The pickguard was missing so I went on a hunt for one but failed, so I had to have one custom made. I also installed strap clips so i no longer have to dogtail one end and tie the other end to the headstock when I play gigs. Now its as good as new: very responsive with a wide range of tones and has become my workhorse guitar.
