models H68 - Jazz Artist
Electric Archtop - Sunburst
Production year(s) : 1968-1971 (other years possible, not verified)

2 pickups. Full depth body. This model appears in 1968 after some years without any full size electric archtop in rthe catalog. You may want to compare to H62/H63, but you'll find different pickups and body. H68 pickups are single coils (same as the common double mustache "indox" pickups, but enlarged with an added wooden spacer inside). H68 pickups don't have adjustable screws to balance strings. The H68 has a solid woods body construction. Heavy solid spruce top, solid maple back. It looks like Harmony just added pickups and electronics to the H1310 (and later H6510) acoustic model. Some H68 are seen stamped H1310, some stamped H6510.

I own one of these beauties. I love this guitar. I have a '40 Blonde Epi deluxe, a '41 Blonde Broadway and also a Silvertone H64. I play the Harmony more than any of these. Great sound with my Gibson GA20 amp and not too bad acoustically either.

After looking for one of these for years, I finally got one yesterday! The guitar feels extremely well built, and my band was extremely impressed by the sound. I have many other Harmony guitars, but this one was exceptionally interesting; although it is a fully acoustic jazz guitar, the pickups are so completely clear with a focus on the high end. Even on the neck pickup, the voicing was extremely bright and clear. It's the greatest sounding instrument I've probably ever owned, and I am quite the fan of Harmony guitars. The neck was somewhat different than my other Harmonys too; it is more wide and flat, and get progressively wider as you reach the 12th fret. Very cool guitar!

I bought one of these for almost nothing at a pawn shop in Denton, Texas (NTSU in those days) in the mid 70s. I wanted an used Gibson SG they had but lacked the funds. I have always enjoyed the sound tho I play country and now what are oldies (not jazz). I just learned what model it is. Amazing appreciation based on prices on the web.

I just received a 1970 H68 in very good condition.
The neck and action, as typical with Harmony guitars, are smooth and easy, The sound is so sweet
and pure, resonating rich and clear. I'm from
Chicago and very proud to own and play these guitars. I wanted a unique jazz guitar sound, something different, now I have it.
