My Harmony electric steel looks exactly like the one pictured but instead of Roy Smeck over the pickup it reads SHARKY across the front as to be seen by an audience. I find no reference to this in any search. dose anyone know what I have? - steve merrill - 2010-10-25
I was just given a H7 that had the dirt of the ages on it, once cleaned and strung it sounds awesome!! Good ole' American craftsmanship, vintage styling, and funky sounding pickup to boot. Now I wouldn't trade it for the world, even missing a knob, legs, and case it still rocks!! Thanks to Cape Crud Donny B for digging this one out of retirement!! Sweet!! Just a note to tell you that I just found a H7 with the date code of March 10th 1972 under the pickup/control cover. stamped in black ink and with the Rowe name and address. thanks for all the info and photos. your site is a real help. - Freddy Wilson - 2012-06-03
Found mine in a trash barrel twenty years ago with case. Plays great. I play a Fender 2000 Pedal Steel in a Country Band and use the lap for early songs. - phillip vaught - 2014-07-16
bought the h7 at a pawn shop in the 70's for 85.00, 3 leg in great shape with case, decided to start playing it now that i am retired, still plays great. restrung it to c6 and replaced a resistor and good as new. - delbyoung - 2015-07-17
Bought my H7 in the UK back in the 1950's and spent hundreds of hours performing on it including recording a couple of LP's at the world famous Abbey Road Studios London. We alternated using the studio with the Beetles. I eventually promoted my playing to a D10 pedal steel guitar. I still have the old H7 and it still looks good and sounds great.
