I bought one of these uitars in the UK for £100. It's ladder braced with a nice pre-war Gibson type feel to it, a very thin top and light construction. It is the earlier model which has the frets banged straight into the neck and painted on fret markers. The neck set is poor but I'll compensate with a proper fretboard and decent frets with a slight chamfer to overcome it. I expect it to sound really good, perhaps like my Kalamazoo KG14.

I had the neck reset on the Guitar and had a proper fretboard added with decent frets. The intonation is now perfect and the sound is excellent. With a plectrum it's deafening.

I found mine for ten pence at my local dump! Now I see what it is, and how much it's worth, it amazes me. The finish is still mirror-quality, as are the plates on which the tuners are mounted. Needs a neck reset though - I may follow your lead on that one, David!

Found my with at local flea market for $45.00 in the original SSC. The rosewood bridge had turned to dust but a NOS bridge was located and this was the only necessary restoration for this otherwise near mint antique. It's now the star of my little Harmony collection and my favorite for tone, looks and ease of play.

I've got a Harmony B that was given to my father during WW2.
He said it was the forerunner to the Gibson.
It has no number on it anywhere.
The plates behind the tuning pegs have square ends.
There's a wee, squint, sticker on the back of the headstock that says "Made in U.S.A.".

I have a 1269H1170 with Fascinator "A" stenciled on the headstock and the Vogue "B" seems to be a dead ringer for it, fret markers and all!
