I bought this lap steel, used in N.Y.City about 1965 in a store in the Bronx, where I grew up. I was trying to teach myself how to play it. I'm a Guitar player and I wanted to learn to play the lap steel because my friend played it very well. As luck would have it, I never did learn to play it. After 35 years or so, I found it again and I gave it to my friend. He loves it! It has a fantastic tone and sustain! He's owned many lap steels and this is his favorite! - Frank Welsh - 2008-02-22
Vito (above) is my friend from our teen years and he made me a gift of the H5. It has impressive tone and sustain and is very well made. I wish Harmony would re-issue some of it's classic steel today at reasonable prices. We might attract more people to play this instrument. Thanks again, Vito. - Rico-j-man - 2012-04-17
Bought one of these on eBay maybe 8 years ago. It is a nice lap steel, but can't compare to my National New Yorker, much more solid guitar. The Harmony has a resonance that gives it a bit of an acoustic feel.
