Hello Francois! I have just purchased a Wards 8379 "H44" and the pot date codes are 134715, which means they were made in the 15th week of 1957. You now have a verified 1957 model of this guitar. These are great guitars with all the tone of the H44. The gold lacquer is similar to a Les Paul Gold Top from the same era. It has the same metallic pigment and turns green when it oxidizes as well. I prefer it to the copper color on the H44. Thanks for the great site! - Andy Russell - 2007-12-24

Hi Francois, I have a MW 8379 with pots dated 1957. What a nice sounding guitar! The only issue is in the three lower strings, which sound notably less loud than the G, B and high E strings. Apart from this it's a splendid blues guitar.
