Long time player of Harmony Guitars, the Silvertone S1429 is the most responsive guitar I have ever played. I have a 72 Gibson Les Paul Delux that has a great sustain and tone but it always sounds like a Les Paul, the Silvertone is the Blues with a Jazz edge.

What a great piece of electric guitar history. Fantastic action, slim neck, great player. The best thing about this guitar would have to be the pickups, which are mind-blowing! They are DeArmond single-coils and sound like no others; full and round, with a sweet, sweet top end that has none of the harsh treble of Fender single-coils. Please, don't buy any more of these guitars, you won't like them, let me buy them! lol

I bought one of these in New York a few years ago. At the time I was playing a Strat copy wired with a on/off switch for each pickup, so thats what attracted me to this guitar. When I got it home and plugged it in I was blown away. With the gain about halfway up the neck pickup ROARS, this is my main sound and I've never played anything else to match it. I've just got a bigsby from ebay, after seeing some of the tremolo equipped guitars on this site.

I too love the sound of this guitar and its unique pickups. However, does anyone else have any problems with noise? It sounds fantastic if I'm not near incoming RF signals, but if I am, it buzzes very badly.
