i have been playing this model (blonde )for over 30 years and have been looking around but have never seen another till i looked at this site.lots of sunburst but the tops arn't as nice as the blonde i have many guitars a 1955 martin ect. have been a player since 1959 my monterey is a nice sounding and comforltable to play and gets more play than any of my other guitars. - Brian Robinson - 2008-05-18
Have had mine since new. Bought it in the 1950x and as of July 2008 it will be on it's way to the Philippines where my wife Arcadia will give it to a blind boy who loves to play guitar but has to always borrow one from a neighbour. Inherited mine from my Dad when my Dad died while I was in Vietnam. I have a blonde model, but can't find it in this database. It is a Marwin "Jewel" stamped 1923H1458. Does anyone have more info on this one?

I have had my Harmony Monterey for about 7 years. It has the serial number 1744M etched into the back of the head stock. I have put a pick up in it and added a Bigsby tailpiece and a pinned rattle-o-matic bridge. The action is low, it plays great and it sounds amazing. - Andrew - 2013-09-25
I have what appears to be a Monterey 1457 blonde, but it has a wooden tailpiece so I assume it's war era. Someone spray painted it black along the way, but I am working on a restoration. Picked it up for $4 at a garage sale. I've had it for ten years now and just found out on this site how old it might be. - AndrewT - 2015-08-15
Just got one today for free from my neighbor, the back has some splits and action is high at 12th, but I think I can fix. Number is 510H1457. Sounds sweet even with 5 old corroded strings! - Liam - 2019-10-11
Finally opened guitar case after almost 20 years since it was bequest to me , I found out it's a Harmondy H1457 and still sounds sweet when strummed. It's a gift I can't part with now, i know Harmony lovers will know what I mean
