I own one of these and the date under the pickguard is October 9, 1963. This brings into question the begining production year of 1966. - François (webmaster) - 2008-06-26
John, H15V is the same guitar as the 1963 H15 with added vibrato. The H15V appears only in 1966 catalog, but a H15 could be bought before with a "W" type vibrato, becoming an early H15V.. :-) Is that clear ? - cb - 2010-01-08

This same (exact) was marketed by sears as a "silvertone" starting in '63. Mine is a '65. The ones from MW showed only "Harmony" as the name. Dates were stamped in one of 2 places - under the neck or under the pick-guard. I still have the Sears "Silvertone" amp that came with it as well.
As far as the angle of the bridge - adjust for proper intonation, not appearance. - Ron - 2012-03-09

I have one of these I picked up as a teenager in the early '70s. Still plays and sounds great. One difference I noticed from all the pics on the H15 and H15V is mine has the mustachio pickups. Maybe that was an option. - Brian - 2016-07-08
There date on the pick guards is the date the pick guards were finished, not the date of the guitars manufacture. They would have had hundreds of those and some stacks may not have run dry before being refilled. So a guitar built in 1967 could have a 1964 pick guard. You get the idea. - Brad - 2017-02-10
Just stumbled into one of these today that had been sitting in a basement for two decades. A new set of strings and lubrication of the tuning machines, and it plays like a dream! It has a neck like my old faithful Les Paul, but with super low action and a cool "Jazzmaster" tone and vibe. Great and highly underrated guitar! - Peter - 2018-09-22
