The VERY faded label in mine says model 171, however...the headstock is identical to that of a model 6210. Also, I bought this USED in Ann Arbor in 1965 from Dave Menefee (a friend) in 9th grade, and have NEVER had any work done to it. The years, and other info listed here, can't POSSIBLY be right, so YOU tell ME...Whassup with this? The trim around the sound hole is also very different from the pictures shown here of either the 171 or the 6210. REALLY STRANGE! - Brian - 2009-04-17
I got the guitar for 30 bucks. I have been playing for 8 years... man where has the time all gone. Well this is the cheapest guitar i have ever bought and one of the best, the tone is just amazing. The tightest grain i have seen on spruce and aged so good. I had to hide glue a spot or two, made bone saddle and nut and got new tuner pegs. I didn't have too, but i wanted to see what this thing could really do at it best. Man o man i well never sell this thing, not even for 1 grand easy. The guy never knew what he had. I saw one hanging in a guitar store and played it. I said,"Hmmm...) this little classical sounds very good. I came back a week or two later and it was still hanging there so I payed the $80 he was asking, got it home, did some cleaning, and minor adjusting, and then after playing awile, realized that the guitar gods were looking out for me that day. My father bought me one of these in 1970 from a pawn shop when I told him I wanted to learn how to play the guitar. It is the guitar I learned on. I still have it today and will never sell it.

Just picked up this one from a yard sale for $40.00, excellent shape, except that the guy changed the tuners for better ones and stripped the color of the back and sides. Should I stain it back to the original color? Also, I don't really finger pick that much or that well, can it just be flat picked or strummed? - Brad - 2013-01-01
I was poking around a pawn shop in Gas City Indiana in 2002 and spotted this guitar in a case in a corner. I bought it for 40 dollars and have never regretted it! My dad bought his sometime around 1969, probably new when he got it. I remember him playing guitar a lot when I was a kid. I've now inherited it (he's still with us, but doesn't really play any more), and I'm teaching myself to play bit by bit. Sounds great and it's in very good condition. This is one heirloom I'm going to try to keep in the family as long as possible. Serial number stamped inside is 4556H171, S-69. The numbers on the paper label are only barely legible with much effort, but the ones stamped on the wood are very easy to read. Love this guitar!
P.S. I was born in Ann Arbor, but we moved to Toledo in 1969. I think he bought it when we were living in Sylvania for about a year from '68 to '69. I'm not sure where exactly he bought it. - mickey - 2015-08-10

To jacob the gold on head stock can be either on this model Same for sound hole. Yours is most likely the h171 - mickey - 2015-08-12

nut 2 1/8. strings at nut 1 3/4 at bridge 2 1/2. bout 14 lower 11 1/4 total l 37 7/8. scale 25 1/4.depth 3 3/4 to 3 1/2, it has the gold stripes Marked 171.
