I have one of these, don't even remember where/when I got it. It's in pretty good shape, needs some work on the neck and bridge. I do remember being told it was a 1963, but that appears to be incorrect. - Eric - 2011-09-02
I recently acquired this from a garage sale for $20. It was missing the pick guard, the neck bowed down slightly just past the joint, and some frets were popping loose. I took it in and had it repaired, and now it plays great. I'm happy with it. - palmtreeman - 2011-11-25
I just bought this gem from a friend for $50, not even knowing what it was until I googled the serial number and manufacturer. It is in great shape and has a woody sound that is perfect for a beginner like me. It is missing the pick guard but other than that looks superb for a guitar that is about to be 40 years old! - Weez - 2012-08-16
I got this as a hand me down from my mother who said my uncle. My uncle died in a car crash when he was 18 so I never got to meet him but I kinda get a sense of him when playing it. It's the only guitar I've owned and I still play it to this day. Has perfect harmony and great projection, an excellent buy my uncle made! - Benjamin - 2016-02-25

I bought a Monterey model H6450 for $195 in February 2016.It has a truss rod.Mint condition. You can play any style of music with this guitar.Surf music sounds great.Just needs a tremelo bar to be perfect. It's loud and clear. This guitar was $72 brand new.Hard to beat a made in USA guitar at the going prices of these things.Buy one with a straight neck and you probably won't be disappointed.
