models H1230 - 12 String
Acoustic flatop 12 string
Production year(s) : 1969-1971 (other years possible, not verified)

Narrow neck 12 string. The 1969 catalog says "CAUTION : It is best not to tune a 12-string guitar as high as regular 6-string guitar pitch. Experienced players recommend tuning three or four half-tones lower, to avoid strain wich might pull up the guitar top or bow the neck".

I have one like this I traded for in 1970. Still plays and sounds great.

Mine has Fender carved into tortoise shell headstock and what could be a stylised H as well. It has no serial number, has Fender(F)tuning keys. I bought it in 1975 believing it was made in 1964. Pick guard is screwed on 5,screws. I have been looking for information for years. Thank you for this site.

Whoops.. Mine is closer to 1270 model with closed head stock as above. 18 frets.. Found faded serial number inside where neck meets body 9971? 070. I use normal tuning, neck has not budged and sound is full.

I need a bridge for this type of harmony. It is a 12 string with the tailpiece!
