H41 - Riviera (1955) - Electric Archtop - Two tone blue, harmometal binding 1 pickup with external volume/tone control, and permanently attached green jack cord. "Harmometal" bindings on top and back of body. The tone switch has three positions : "Bass" gives the usual direct wiring with vol and tone control. "Treble" bypasses the tone control, the volume pot only is active. "Rythm" is the same as treble but some low frequencies are cut (so yes, this is even more treble than treble...). A left handed model was available. H48 - Stratotone Mercury (1958-1963) - Electric hollowbody - Flamed Blonde 1 pickup H49 - Stratotone Jupiter (1958-1965) - Electric hollowbody - Natural Usually they have spruce top, but some of them have a maple top. H54/1 - Rocket (1968-1972) - Electric hollowbody - Redburst 2 pickups - Double cutaway. It looks like some late models may have rectangular pearlette block markers instead of dots on fretboard, as well as triple binding. H55 - Sovereign with neck pickup (1958-71) - Acoustic flatop Pickup at the end of the fretboard - later was H655. Note the fretboard is longer, and soundhole is lowered if compared to the H1203 or other pure acoustics. H56 - Roy Smeck (1954-1959) - Electric Archtop - Midnight Blue Trussrod from 1956 - Solid birch body and top. Blue finish, with added "stardust gold" on later models (1958-59). It seems to be the same as the previous H60 Meteor but with new "jazz" tailpiece and a 3 ply (b/w/b) overlay on head, and black trussrod cover. Plastic inlays in f-holes. Curiously, the '71 catalog shows a dot neck but all known samples have block inlays as other Meteor versions. The "Harmony Meteor" logo still appears on the head on the catalog's picture but the known samples only have the "Harmony" logo. (To avoid confusion : H61 model number was also used in the fifties for the 1352 Silvertone archtop cutaway with one P13 pickup). Same model was renumbered H661 from 1972.
